Metallica 9th album is called Death Magnetic.
Yep. Thats a fact that is. Not much else to say on the matter really except that it should be out in Sept.......oh and its produced by Rick Rubin and sounds like the old 80's stuff.

Our beloved Picnic is in danger!
It may be cancelled as a result of an on going dispute between Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and POD concerts. The fight revolves around royalties going back 4 years for a number of concerts including the Electric Picnic. We are not talking a few quid here either, it’s more than €432,000.
According to the Irish Times if IMRO don’t get their dues they could apply to restrain future live events by POD, which would mean the Picnic could very soon end up on the chopping block! Mr Justice Kelly, who will sit in on the case has given Pod 7 days to lodge their defence and then 3 weeks leeway for the sides to see if they can settle out of court.
Come on guys my Summer Holiday was booked just for this………fix it, fix it FIX IT!
Those Islandic classical/chill/rock/other worldly noise bringers are letting people hear their new album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, and therefore so will I.

Weezer, those slacker rockers return with “Pork and Beans” the first single form their new self titled album (the Red album). Jacknife Lee, Irelands busiest producer is on board to lend his brand of crafted madness to the affair. Not that Weezer need much of that. For the video the boys have rounded up people from famous youtube videos to help them sing and dance through their latest offering. After I laughed my way through the video a few times I realised that I really like the song too and with other bands the video might have been a gimmick to paper over the cracks of a poor job Weezer’s workmanship is not in question.
Twin sisters Louise & Ellie A.K.A The Heathers have a lot on their plates at the moment. They are releasing their debut "Here, Not There" in Eamon Doran’s on the 23rd of this month. They are touring with it for a month across America of all places. But in between the two they have to sit the leaving cert.
The power of their voices and the passion of delivery coupled with a singing style that make a lie of their age (18) & the fact they are only played their first gig together a year ago should mean big things for the duo. (Ok they have lived together for all their lives so practice opportunities were prob plentiful.) The Heathers make a big sound from one little guitar and two big voices .One (two) to watch.
Check them out here.

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. has just released "Keep Singing Out" from his second "Album Searching For The Hows And Whys". His work has taken on a new depth since using Nitin Sawhney as producer. The album is a showcase of the talents of both Cape and Sawhney who brings almost everything he can find to the mix, I could have sworn I heard him use the kitchen sink, yet keeps it from being cluttered. Cape for his part remains the urban poet with a mad-on against neo-capitalism. He has a talkie/singie style that few could pull off without getting really old really fast. He does it nicely. As for the single its not my faverote song on the album but still a cracker. (release "Waiting For The Monster To Drown" damn you!)
