Carl Barat popped in and played with aul mate Pete for the first time since May 2004 at the second of Doherty's 'An Evening With Pete Doherty' gigs at the Hackney Empire in London on the 12th of April. They played 13 Libertines classics They were seen to be chatting and joking in between songs. Now isn’t that sweet. They finished up their set with 'The Delaney' before leaving the stage to rapturous ovation.
This is good timing for Pete as rumours abound that Babyshambles are going to give him his P45. It is reported that he has not seem his band mates in weeks. He is also rumoured to be recording with Kate Moss with intentions of releasing tracks together. Check KP Nuts on YouTube.
REM are playing in Dublin 30th June and the gig has already roused a\ great deal o interest. Firstly if you have a ticket you will be treated to a world exclusive as the band will be playing new material there which will appear on the upcoming album. Many bands test the stuff on the faithful before unleashing it in album form but not so REM. It will be the first time in about ten years the guys will do this.
Now here is the problem, if you don’t have a tickrt but are thinking of buying one off a mate, ebay or that scruffy bloke who always has tickets to gigs be warned: THERE ARE STOLEN TICKETS ON THE MARKET. What that means is you may cough up your hard earned yoyos, get a genuine ticket (see it has the logo and everything) only to find the door slammed in your face come concert night. You have been warned.
In an email issued to fans of the Frank and Walters, the mother of band member Ashley tells, “Ashley's hair is out of control, this is causing Paul to giggle inanely and Kevin to hide behind park benches (see YouTube clip above)”, and she pleads for help, “For pity's sake we must act now!!!”
To fund the attempts to save Ashley’s hair – or rather not – the band are apparently releasing a new single, ‘Fight’ on sale on April 27. It will be record stores, and for those who are having a bad hair year on CD from roadrecs.com or in digital formats from emusic.com and itunes.com.
In the next few weeks the band plays the Music Factory, Carlow; Dolan's Warehouse, Limerick; Rósín Dubh, Galway, Electric Avenue, Waterford; the Spirit Store, Dundalk; Whelan's, Dublin, see thefrankandwalters.ie for more.
The video for 'Fight' is the first one below, see more of their music videos and live and TV clips on YouTube here. 'After All' (last below) is our fav.
Cute is What We Aim For, bassist Jack Marin has today departedthe group. Marin issued a statement through his Live Journal. He states "At first when I joined the band everything was great and everyone seemed happy. But shortly after, I started having some personal issues with another member. I've tried to just ignore the problems, but the truth is, I'm just not happy at all.”
He goes on to say “This is a decision that I've been debating for weeks. Even as I was getting ready to tell the guys, I was still wondering if I was making the right decision. But I've finally decided that it's in my best interest to leave this band as soon as possible. It's a matter of principle and to me, being in the band just isn't worth what I have to deal with.”
Given the cut wrist world that is emo, all we can do is wish him the best of luck in any future musical endeavours.
After gaining an entirely new audience with their 2002 kids album “No!” and their DVD “Here Comes the ABCs,” They Might Be Giants will release a sequel to the latter Disney produced project with “Here Come the 123s”. the disc will feature an hour of new, original songs plus a number of videos.
The band have confirmed that they will be touring toward the second half of this year, in support of their new album “The Else”, which is due for release in July. They will continue the trend of playing family orientated shows during the day and adult shows at night.
No dates have been confirmed as yet. Fingers crossed they’ll take the time to play Ireland, as TMBG live is an experience not to be missed.

In other NIN news, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which is infamous for suing everyone from young children to old age pensioners has gone after a number of web sites including Idolator for posting leaked songs from the upcoming album.
The problem is that these tracks have been leaked intentionally as part of an orchestrated advertising campaign. that the record company has signed off on. The tracks were left on hard drives in venues that the group played all across Europe.
Year Zero is the first of two concept albums, the second of which will be available some time next year. The release of Yea Zero has turned into a musical event the like of which has not been seen for some time. A viral underground marketing scheme has been set up with cryptic messages adorning t-shirts and websites.
Fall Out Boy have postponed the beginning leg of the Honda Civic Tour
due to undisclosed personal issues. The tour which was due to begin on
April 18, has been postponed till May 11.
The band have refused to divulge specific reasons stating only that "Unfortunately, because of some personal issues we had to delay the tour a few weeks,". Pete Wentz’s statement also noted "We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can."
It seems that the “personal issues” are not as sever as originally believed. Fall Out Boy look set to continue selling records and touring for some time to come.
